Instinkt, Intelligenz, Verstand, Vernunft

There should still be people, even among those who consider themselves educated, who do not know how to distinguish between these different phenomena of thought. At best they know the difference between intelligent and instinctive achievements and know where they are located, but the rest goes to them as one and everything that indicates a more careful handling they call stupidity and at best esotericism – I rather call it philosophy , because to inquire into the nature of thought is probably one of their chief aims.

Our employee Rolf T. is such a person. He considers himself educated, but he cannot follow very simple phenomenological explanations about the natures and ways of thinking. So I want to give a little lesson to him and everyone who feels the same way.

It cannot be denied that animals from a certain relative brain volume also have what we call intelligence. It has been proven that this includes primates, but also cats and dogs, birds and marine mammals – whose brains, as we know, are of different sizes, as they should be adapted to their sheer size, but have roughly a similar differentiation. So far, I think, there will be no contradiction and no one will put such observations under the label of esotericism. This intelligence is definitely to be distinguished from instinct – our Rolf T. will not make me an esoteric for this either (probably to be distinguished from our ghost – Rolf) because this distinction is probably not only known to me. This intelligence, which sometimes produces astonishing achievements, has not yet been researched in detail, but we already know a lot about it – for example, that it cannot be creative ex nihilo, but only reacts to what is given with what is given, whereby it increases and decreases – what is not constantly practiced stunted again, but at least it is capable of learning, that is, it reacts to certain situations with learned behavioral patterns – if they fail, however, it is quite helpless. She cannot develop alternative behavior patterns unless she has also learned and practiced them beforehand.

Human beings, of course, also have such functional intelligence in their capacity as mammals and, depending on their brain volume and brain organization, this functional intelligence is much more developed than that of a chimpanzee, for example, of which we otherwise only have a single gene, as we know differs. She is able to consider and apply alternatives and she is able to develop new behavior patterns, not only to learn them, which can then be passed on and for this purpose she is able to communicate in an orderly manner, i.e. not only in ambiguous ones Gestures and sounds, but it can give unambiguous information in fixed languages ??and on the other hand is able to understand this language in the sense of the given information. Much of what the superficial observer tries to classify under understanding and reason actually and in truth belongs to the realm of the functional intelligence of a person. But this intelligence cannot do one thing: it cannot say of itself that it is intelligent.

This, in turn, can be done by the human mind, which grows out of intelligence. He can get to the bottom of things, he can analyze, understand and recreate everything he finds. It is the mind that invents the tools that make life easier; it is he who extracts the mixture from various medicinal herbs that alone cures a certain disease, which one herb alone is unable to cure, it is he who deciphering the nature of nature and solving the riddles of the universe one by one – and who also behaves quite unreasonably from time to time, because – he is not able to think about what his work in the fourth and fifth step can result in given. He is the tinkerer and tinkerer, the researcher and discoverer, the captain of the economy, perhaps also mostly the politician, because it is well known that many of them only think from the age of twelve to the tip of their nose, there is even a philosophy that justifies such short-sightedness, I think the philosopher’s name is Popper. So, it should be noted that so-called humanities (for Rolf Pf .: ghost sciences) belong to the pure intellectual achievements, not only philosophy, also some stratagems of the science of the soul belong here, so the well-known behaviorism. You can even locate a certain form of art here, namely that which we encounter everywhere in our time. You just do something to do something – but I don’t exclude the art of advertising, because it doesn’t just do something, but it has a message, but: this message is mostly limited to objects that should be bought and consumed and, if possible, the day before yesterday.

We see: Intelligence and understanding alone are probably strong enough to get a person through life – and that on a fairly high technical, commercial and scientific level. But neither can it be denied that many of these impulses are unreasonable. At this time in particular, we have a tremendous amount to do with phenomena and suffer from them, those who are intelligent, who are sensible – but who are highly unreasonable, I am only thinking of maximum profit and atomic energy here. It is also highly profitable and intelligent to sell the wood of the rainforests, as the countries there are advised by the World Bank and the IMF to pay off their debts, but it is highly unreasonable, because by selling a relatively small, because If you only fight monetary evil, you really fight yourself, because the climate that you spoil also harms the creditors of these countries. The soil that is currently being spoiled by fracking can no longer provide food for those who have made their profit from natural gas. These people are sensible, they know what and how it can bring them short-term advantage. But they have no need to research the third and fourth steps of their actions and their understanding beforehand and not because they are not aware of the reason in them. You carry it with you like the famous treasure in the field. Much does not escape them, but one thing in any case: the stability of their own existence. It could only be achieved through the conscious use of reason, precisely that which seems unattainable to them, since they do not know about its existence.

In reason, man encounters his very own nature. If she sleeps in him, and that happens more often than we think, he turns this way and that in his understanding and tries to lift himself up on foreign understanding and he achieves some things, just nothing sensible. But if it awakens in him and he recognizes his nature, he also recognizes what is useful in the performance of his intellect and what does not stand up to closer consideration. Reason gives rise to the disposition – if reason has awakened in him, it will necessarily be different than in the sleeping state, however: the understanding, in sum, also results in a disposition, only it is completely different, it is not complex but gained linearly from one experience to another. The reason of the spiritual (for our Zürcherdytsch – Rolf: ghostly) new birth of the human being is comprehensive and has in view circumstances that elude a linear view, since they work their way up from completely different positions than the linear viewer has in view also includes the so-called externalities and their influence on the desired process. Everyone, however, can only see reason as far as he himself has produced it. It is the highest and last instance of all evaluation and judgment and modern esotericism, which is characterized by not evaluating and not evaluating, turns out to be profoundly irrational in such a request.

But how does reason come about? It arises when intelligent and sensible processes are refined and oriented from the spiritual realm, so to speak, through the knowledge of the true nature of human beings. It does not arise in the brain like the other processes, but it is man’s part in eternity and the way his part is measured, so is his reason. But he always has some share. No person is ever completely unreasonable, unless he has no or a defective possibility to also reflect this reason in his humanity. If it is too little reason that he produces, he will be a flat character with little content, if it is too much reason that he produces, he will eventually lose interest in the repetitions of earthly life. Because in earthly life everything repeats itself, it is an a priori fixed pattern that only allows certain possibilities – humans cannot fly. The mind therefore devised an airplane. At most, the repetitions increase and the smoke signal alphabet becomes communication with the iphone, and the sound board archive becomes the server unit. But a life in the spirit is a completely different life (for Rolf: in the ghost), a life in which thought becomes action and communication means knowing about one another. That is impossible in the world and that is a good thing, because if everything is taken for granted, where is there a reason to ask about something? Reason is and does not arise in the brain, but it can influence processes that arise in the brain.

Material life has produced nothing greater than the mind. It shaped and worked on it for a long time, billions of years went by without it existed – and now it has been around for the blink of an eye of evolution and the event that reason came to understanding was not much shorter ago. As I said – never forget that great things can also be produced with the intellect alone – only our judgment of what the intellect produces cannot happen without reason. Without reason, everything is the same to us. Because only reason can really understand the things produced by the mind and in perspective. The mind is happy about a new device. Reason, however, sees how it arises and warns to be mindful. Instinct drives life to reproduce, intelligence looks at how it does it, understanding looks to see whether the biological parameters are optimally „correct“ … and reason raises love immortally to the stars. It is irrelevant whether the biological parameters are correct, yes it is irrelevant whether the genes are combined and passed on at all, and yet love is not unhappy, but the source of great works that benefit all of humanity. Because reason is never cold. On the contrary, it is the beating heart, the warming fire in the middle of the ice and the rain that ends the scorching heat. Sure, the rain just makes some people wet and some others burn their fingers on the fire, some hearts go too fast or too slowly … but in everything reason wakes or dreams, the existence of which nobody really knows how to fathom, but everyone knows : they exist. Some long for it, some fear it, but no one can deny it.

What I have called reason here, this ultimate and decisive authority that irrevocably turns man into man, is what some people also call spirit – and our Rolf here calls it a ghost, his language, the Zürcherdytsch, has no other term – says he us anyway. May everyone form their own judgment about it.
